Colonialism and Independence

Looking globally at historical colonialism and indepedence, I developed a Sankey chart which tracks countries which were colonized and later found independence.  I used Paul Hensel's ICOW dataset which covers these major dependencies throughout history.  Hover over each link to show the links of specific countries and the history of colonialism.
