ACLED Chord

ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project) collects yearly data on African and Asian conflicts including locations, type of conflict and actors involved.  In an attempt to understand and visualize the composition of these conflicts I developed a chord diagram analyzing over 5,000 conflicts in multiple African countries and the nature of these conflicts dating back to 1997.  The value of this visualization lies in evaluating the relative frequency of an occurrence of an event from one actor against another.  Hover over each actor title to highlight relationships.
